Lost Hound!

Well almost...unbeknownced to me the front gate at the farm was open this morning and Abby made her way onto the other side of the fence and onto the road! She looked like she was on a mission, but I called out her name and she immediately came back to my side of the road. I had to find a safe spot to jump the fence to get her, but she followed along the fence with me until I was able to climb over. There is something to be said for a greyhound that knows their name and has a good "Recall" when it counts!

I'm a very GOOD girl!:-)

Run Abby Ruuuuun

Abby LOVES to run, but that doesn't mean she needs a huge backyard, she'll run anywhere! She is such an animated runner which makes her a bit slower than other greyhounds. She has a real playful side which shows in the following pics.

Making New Friends...

We went to a horse show yesterday and everyone just loved Abby, she was the perfect girl on the leash and made a lot of new friends. One thing really nice about Abby is she is not a "marker", you can walk her for hours and she doesn't constantly have to check "messages" or leave her own! Abby is still looking for her forever home...

Making a Big Splash

Kadabra is ready to make a splash in someone's life...is it yours? She loves to have fun in the water on a hot day and would be your perfect companion at the lake or anywhere!

Everyone loves a Parade...

The company I work for sponsored our town's parade this year and so at the last minute I asked if I could walk the dogs in it, Kadabra and Limo. I had no idea what to expect really on how Kadabra would handle all the excitement. She took all the sites in and was such a good girl! A truck was all that separated us from the Highschool band! And at one point when the ambulance and fire trucks turned on their sirens she howled along with them, it was pretty cute. Even during a parade she didn't drag me with her leash, can't say the same for Limo!
Our company is a Cable, Internet and phone service provider and I told our Marketing manager that we should have put a sign on Kadabra that said "Fast, Reliable Service" and then on Limo we should have had her wear a sign that said the "Other Guys". She loved the idea and said we'd have to do that next time! Kadabra was a big hit at the Parade!

Size doesn't matter...

Whether they are GIANT or small(er), Kadabra doesn't care. She seems to get along with everyone. I haven't been able to meet a smaller dog than Limo with her, because we just haven't ran into any and all my friends have greyhounds or big/medium sized dogs. We made a trip to Petsmart and there was one of those Taco Bell dogs there, but we were in line to leave when we saw it.
Her leg healed great and staples are out! She's able to run and play again. We also tackled the stairs and with a little encouragement she was more than happy to follow me up them.

Apartment dweller?

K' loves being out of the kennel and now just needs to find her forever home. I think she would do fine living in an apartment. She seems to be a very quiet girl both in and out of her crate.
